NOPD FOURTH DISTRICT GETS NEW COMMANDER

The NOPD 4th District will have a new commander as of January 3, 2015. As part of Chief Harrison's realignment of the NOPD leadership team, it was announced on December 30, 2015 that 4th District Commander Shaun Ferguson will become the Commander of the Second District. His replacement is Ceasar Ruffin, who currently serves as the Assistant Commander of the Fourth District, will become the Commander of the Fourth District.

Algiers has enjoyed an excellent relationship with the NOPD 4th District under Commander Ferguson's leadership. We look forward to continued good relations with Commander Ruffin.

On December 16, 2014, officers teamed up with community partners, including the Algiers Neighborhood Presidents Council, to give new toys to more than 100 students at William J. Fischer Elementary. Then on December 21, officers invited 42 students from William J. Fischer to the Fourth District to receive a brand new bicycle.

State and City officials, along with the Riverview Neighborhood Association and Aurora West Civic Association participated in the events.

The events in the Fourth District followed similar NOPD toy giveaways held in every police district in December where a total of over 500 area students received new toys.
