Tropical Storm Gordon Status

For updates on City preparations and status regarding Tropical Storm Gordon, go to ready.nola.gov. There are also updates on Nextdoor.

The information below is from District C Councilmember Palmer's office.

- The District C office will remain open today and tomorrow though City Hall is officially closed. The number is  (504) 658-1030. Updates are also being posted on social media: Kristin G. Palmer@kgislesonpalmer (Twitter), Kristin Gisleson Palmer (Facebook).

- Use 311 to report problems, even if you plan to the call CM Palmer so that problems and resolutions can be tracked.

- To receive updates from NOLA Ready, text your zip code to 888777 or go to ready.nola.gov to sign up.

- 116 of 120 pumps are working in the city and all Algiers pumps are working, as well as 1 of 2 back pumps.

- Please check on neighbors who may need assistance. Those with special needs can register by calling 311.

- Street Flooding - Call 311 or go to http://streetwise.nola.gov/ to report street flooding. You can also go to http://streetwise.nola.gov/ to see the status on street flooding. Crime cameras are also being used to monitor streets.

- Please clean any catch basins that may have debris. S&WB trucks are also driving around to check.

- Orleans Parish Schools are closed today and tomorrow. Buses and the ferry are running. The Coast Guard will determine if the ferry needs to be closed due to weather conditions.

- Brechtel Park is currently closed.
